We want you to order the right equipment first time. If something does need to come back, this page explains how returns work for different types of order. Nothing on this page affects your statutory rights.
Consumers: your right to cancel
If you are buying as a consumer, rather than in the course of a business, you can cancel your order for any reason within 14 days of receiving it, under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. Tell us by email within those 14 days, then send the item back within a further 14 days. We refund the price of the goods within 14 days of receiving them back, or of receiving evidence that you have sent them.
To be returned under this right, items must be unused and in their original packaging, with any seals intact. This applies to hand tools, accessories and other items sent by courier in the usual way.
Large machines
Large machines can also be returned within 14 days under the same right if they are unused and in their original packaging. Because these items are delivered by pallet or tail lift vehicle, you are responsible for the cost of returning them to us. Where we arrange collection on your behalf by tail lift vehicle, this is charged at cost, based on the size and weight of the machine and the collection address, and we confirm the charge with you before collection.
Installed equipment
Once installation of a machine has started at your request, whether under the delivered and installed or installed with LOLER inspection versions, the equipment cannot be returned for a change of mind. This is because the work of positioning, anchoring and commissioning the machine at your premises cannot be undone. This does not affect your rights if the equipment is later found to be faulty.
Service and inspection visits
You can cancel a service visit, LOLER thorough examination or calibration visit within 14 days of booking it, for a full refund, unless the visit has already taken place at your request within that period. If the visit has taken place at your request before the 14 days are up, we do not refund the charge for the work carried out.
Business customers
The 14 day cancellation right described above is a consumer right. If you are buying in the course of a business, such as a garage, tyre centre or fleet operator, these cancellation rights do not apply, and returns for a change of mind are at our discretion and may be subject to a handling and carriage charge.
Faulty goods
Every machine and item we sell carries a warranty, and the length of parts and labour cover is stated on the listing. As a general guide, lifts carry three years cover on parts and two years on labour, but you should check the individual listing, as cover varies by product. If a consumer buys equipment that turns out to be faulty, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 applies: goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described, and you may be entitled to a repair, replacement or refund depending on how long you have had the item and whether an earlier repair has already been attempted. Contact us with your order number and a description of the fault and we will advise on the next step, whether that is a warranty repair, a replacement part or a service visit.
