These terms apply to every order placed on bay1equipment.com. Please read them before you order.
1. About us

2. Your order
When you place an order you receive an email acknowledging it. The contract between us is formed when we email to confirm dispatch, or confirm a delivery, installation, service or inspection booking. We may decline an order if an item is out of stock, if there is an obvious pricing error, or if a site survey shows that the equipment ordered is not suitable for your premises. If we decline an order, we refund you in full.
3. Delivered, installed and inspected versions
Where a machine is offered as delivered, delivered and installed, or installed with LOLER inspection, the listing and our installation and LOLER page set out what each version includes. For an installed version, we survey your premises before booking a firm installation date, and installation may be delayed or need to be re quoted if the survey shows that further work, such as a concrete pad or an additional electrical circuit, is needed first.
4. Floor, power and site conditions
You are responsible for giving us accurate information about your floor, ceiling height, bay dimensions and electrical supply when asked. Our before you buy page explains what we need to know and why. Where equipment is delivered rather than installed by us, you or your installer are responsible for checking the floor and supply are suitable before anchoring or connecting the machine.
5. Prices and payment
Prices are shown in pounds sterling and include UK VAT where it applies. Delivery is charged as set out on our delivery page and is shown before you pay. Orders outside the UK may be subject to import duty and local taxes, which are payable to the courier on delivery.
6. Finance
Where finance is offered on an item, it is provided by a third party lender and is subject to status and approval. See our finance page for how this works.
7. Cancellations, returns and faulty goods
Your rights to cancel and return goods are set out on our returns and refunds page. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
8. LOLER and PSSR obligations
Where equipment we supply is subject to the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 or the Pressure Systems Safety Regulations 2000, it remains your responsibility as the operator to arrange the ongoing thorough examinations or written scheme of examination required by law once the equipment is in use at your premises, whether or not you choose to book these with us.
9. Business customers
If you buy in the course of a business, the consumer cancellation rights described on our returns page do not apply to you, and our liability for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of use of a vehicle or lost workshop income, is excluded to the extent the law allows.
10. Our liability
We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care. We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be excluded by law.
11. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.
